Pressure Reducing Valves
$692.00
A pressure reducing valve (PRV) is used in Penn Separator blowdown and flash separator systems to control and limit incoming cooling water pressure to a maximum of 60 PSIG before it reaches temperature regulator valves.
Key Functions in Penn Separator Systems
- Cooling Water Regulation: When using an optional drain after-cooler or temperature regulator valve to cool boiler condensate or blowdown water down to safe drain limits (typically 140°F), high municipal or supply line water pressures can damage or miscalibrate the regulator.
- Protecting Equipment: Installing a Pressure Reducing Valve ensures the cooling water pressure to the temperature control valve stays at or below 60 psig.
- Complementary Accessories: It is frequently paired with a Penn Blowdown Separator setup alongside an optional check valve or ball cone check valve to prevent backflow into the cold water supply.
